These Terms govern your use of lexchest.com. By purchasing or downloading any document, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Description of Service
LexChest provides jurisdiction-aware legal document templates for personal and business use in the United States and Canada. All PDF generation occurs client-side in your browser.
3. Not Legal Advice
LexChest provides document templates for informational and self-help purposes only. We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice or creates a lawyer-client relationship. Always consult a licensed attorney for matters with significant legal or financial consequences.
4. Single-Use Document License
Each purchase grants a single, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- Generate ONE (1) PDF document
- Use that document for your own personal or business matter
- Retain the downloaded PDF for your records
You may NOT:
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute any document as a template
- Circumvent the token system
- Bulk-generate documents
- Represent documents as lawyer-drafted
- Remove watermarks or license notices
5. Accuracy Disclaimer
Our templates reflect statute requirements as of their last review date. Laws change. Accuracy confidence ratings indicate our confidence level. Green = verified. Yellow = recommend professional review. Red = consult a lawyer. LexChest is not liable for changes in law after a document's review date.
6. Louisiana and Quebec Special Notice
Louisiana (civil law jurisdiction) and Quebec (Civil Code + French language requirements) are marked with reduced confidence ratings. Documents for these jurisdictions should be reviewed by a licensed local attorney or notaire before execution.
7. Payment and Refunds
All sales are final once a token is issued. Technical failures: contact support@lexchest.com within 48 hours with your session ID for resolution.
8. Intellectual Property
All template structures, the LexChest platform, source code, and branding are proprietary. Generated PDFs are yours to use per Section 4.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEXCHEST IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE DOCUMENT IN QUESTION.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada. Disputes shall be resolved in Ontario courts.
11. Changes
LexChest may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
